Elders

This ongoing documentary photography project is meant to capture the lives and stories of single elders. Their homes in which they are photographed tell as much about them as their words.

Quebec City, Canada

A weekend trip to Quebec City seemed like a good opportunity to try out some black & white film for the first time. The city was beautiful and we we had a great time exploring the old town. I dredged up some of my old French from the time I lived in Lyon, France, but I was lucky to have a talented French-speaking travel companion!

Pinhole Camera

The following photographs were taken with a pinhole camera made from an old whiskey tin.

Three level pinholes were made in the center of the camera to create triple overlapping images. All photos were developed in a makeshift darkroom created in the back of my basement.
